During these testing times, not only has the practical driving test itself changed but also the process of arranging one! With only a limited number of tests available in the UK and with those that are going fast, the popular area of Hyde is no different.
Located near the bustling city of Manchester and its proximity to busy motorways such as the M67 and M60 (Manchester outer Ring Rd), it is no wonder everyone is trying to learn to drive in Hyde. Not only does Hyde offer fantastic direct links into the centre of Manchester, it also offers a variety of road types to learn from.
Although the test centre itself is relatively small, it is perfectly placed to assess all aspects of your driving ability. As it’s located in a residential area, you will gain plenty of town driving experience which will contain everything you would expect to find from different types of junctions, traffic lights and possibly some one-way
systems as well as several mini-roundabouts like those found on Great Norbury Street and Chapel Street both only a few minutes from the test centre and highly likely to come up within your practical test.
We have a great instructor which covers Hyde and the surrounding area who has many years teaching experience and you can be assured that with their knowledge of Manchester, you will soon get to know all the local test routes!
Many pupils enjoy learning to drive in Hyde with 57.2% (2018/2019) of candidates passing 1 st time here which is way above the national average of 49%. Another advantage of learning to drive in Hyde is the freedom you will gain once you have successfully passed your test. Not only will you be able to journey into Manchester to explore everything it has to offer from designer shops to trendy new bars and restaurants but you will also be able to venture into the Peak District National Park which is less than 40 minutes away!
The DVSA did reopen their system on 14th September 2020 with tests available until January 2021 but tests are going fast!
