Today the DVSA are changing the rules yet again on the booking and changing of driving tests in an attempt to stop apps/bots but us in he industry know will have little or no affect to how the test waiting time currently is.

In an attempt to stop the bots and apps from booking and reselling practical driving tests the DVSA implemented a series of changes including banning anyone from booking a driving test unless they are the test candidate. Only 2 changes to a driving test are now allowed and from today you can only swap a driving test to a linked driving test centre which are in batches of 4 test centres. In Essex the linked test centres that you can swap to are,

Basildon:

  • Brentwood (London) – about 11 miles away
  • Southend-on-Sea – about 13 miles away
  • Tilbury – about 13 miles away

It has also been reported that the DVSA have shut down approximately 1100 people or apps that they believe could be bots or apps trying to buy tests. Some driving test candidates where they believe an automated system has been used have found their practical driving tests cancelled, some have even been banned from booking a test for a period as well. Unfortunately these efforts have fallen short of stopping the apps/bots as they change how they book tests and come back for more tests to sell.

These measures have meant that people wishing to use A Pass 4 U Driving Schools intensive driving courses now have to have a test booked and we will then arrange the training leading up to their own test. Intensive driving courses still offer a learner driver the best way in learning to drive and give them the best chance of being able to pass a driving test 1st time.
